The PA Republican Leadership Council is proud to endorse Mr. Ed Kress for County Council-at-Large in the 2011 Primary Election.

This was a tough Board decision and was a close vote.  The Republican Party is very fortunate to have two well qualified candidates.  However, when evaluating both candidates on their responses to our questions and their commitment to our Beliefs and Principles (http://pagopwing.com/our_beliefs.htm), the Board felt that Mr. Kress more reflected traditional Republican principles.

Ed Kress has been appointed twice to serve in this position and each time has hit the deck running, introducing legislation to protect the rights of Allegheny County citizens.

Understanding the need for more revenue, Mr. Kress moved to sell the naming rights to the Greater Pittsburgh International Airport.  He consistently looks for any revenue opportunities that might avoid raising taxes.

Ed Kress encourages bi-partisan support whenever possible and has been successful getting that support with his recent anti-fraud proposal now working its way through County Council.

We urge voters who want a pro-life candidate to fight for them for the right to live their lives free from overbearing government to vote May 17 for Ed Kress for Allegheny County Executive.                          ###

The PA Republican Leadership Council is proud to endorse Mr. Charles McCullough for Allegheny County Executive in the 2011 Primary Election.
Mr. McCullough, through his past actions and his current affirmations, supports the Beliefs and Principles of the PA Republican Leadership Council. (http://pagopwing.com/our_beliefs.htm). His opponent, D. Raja, has refused to agree to our Statement of Principles.
By releasing his Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights, by fighting the widely unpopular, and unfair to small businesses, drink tax, by his desire to privatize the county hospitals and by his desire to consolidate inefficient county authorities, McCullough has shown that he stands for less government and a business-friendly county.
Other candidates talk about “creating jobs,” but support the “old boy network” programs that have chased businesses from our region and the loss of population that follows. Chuck McCullough’s plan will begin to reverse that decline through developing the airport corridor and the support of Marcellus Shale operations as well as the streamlining of county operations.
We urge voters who want a pro-life candidate to fight for them for the right to live their lives free from overbearing government to vote May 17 for Chuck McCullough for Allegheny County Executive.
